Are you a master’s student on the Boston campus who has completed at least one semester? Are you interested in connecting with a new student who’s learning the ins and outs of how to be a successful graduate student at Northeastern University? Would you like to receive formal mentoring training and become part of an exciting community with workshops, events, and swag? Do you like to meet new people and love to help others? If so, we invite you to become a mentor by applying below!

Interdisciplinary

The Peer Pathways Program is interdisciplinary in nature, and there’s a chance that you will connect with someone who is not part of your academic program at Northeastern. Efforts will be made to pair you with someone in your college.

Not on Co-Op

You cannot be in co-op during the semester that you participate.

Z

Status

You must be a full-time master’s student who is enrolled at the Boston campus who has completed at least one semester.

Z

Meetings

You will be required to reach out to connect with mentee(s) during the semester. That’s half the fun! You will be given support and guidance on how to do so.

Canvas

You will need to complete a Canvas introductory module by the advertised due date to become a mentor, which you will be enrolled in upon acceptance to the program. You will also be asked to submit brief reflections after each workshop.

Workshops

After completing the introductory Canvas course, you will be required to attend 4 of 6 workshops, the first of which is in-person and mandatory for all mentors (offered twice, either A or B).

Workshop schedule:

    • Workshop 1A: Wednesday, September 25, 1-2:30pm
    • Workshop 1B: Thursday, September 26, 1-2:30pm
    • Workshop 2: Thursday, October 3, 1-2:30pm
    • Workshop 3: Thursday, October 10, 1-2:30pm
    • Workshop 4: Thursday, October 17, 1-2:30pm
    • Workshop 5: Thursday, October 25, 1-2:30pm
    • Workshop 6: Thursday, October 31, 1-2:30pm

By completing the above requirements, you will:

    • Receive a formal completion certificate.
    • Get some exclusive swag, including a free copy of Elements of Mentoring!
    • Acquire good experience to put on your resume.
    • Develop skill competencies in mentorship, leadership, and building community.
